Are you interested in applying for medical school in the future in Hong Kong but struggling to build your CV? No worries, we’re here to help! This is a comprehensive list of medical extracurricular activities and tasterships programmes for students. Some of them are hosted by universities while others are hosted by university-endorsed student organizations. These activities not only give you insights into medical school and the field of medicine but also provide you with additional experience to add to your CV.
Unlike some companies that provide private extracurricular activities and medical experience that comes with a very steep price tag, the activities we include below all have a much more reasonable price. We believe that medical exposure in secondary school is important for aspiring medical students, and that these experiences should be available to anyone who seeks it. We hope that this page will help you find an activity that could eventually change your life.
Below you can find a timeline showing when each event is held over a year. Note that the deadline for application can be months ahead of the date of the event so be sure to check ahead of time and apply at your earliest convenience. It is also worth noting that some of these programmes are quite competitive and the slots may fill up quickly once the application. Additionally, we’ve also categorized these activities into university-organized versus student committee-organized for your reference. However, personally we do not really see much of a difference in the impact within a CV in these two categories.
